(3)Accuracy of detectionĪdjust the accuracy with which to detect the lines. You can set the width of the outline by entering a value or adjusting the slider. Please see "Extracting lines from images" for details on converting an image to lines and tones.Ĭhoose whether to extract the lines to a raster layer or a vector layer. If converting from an image, different settings will appear in the dialog. You can use the Preview setting to check the result first. Adjust the settings to get the desired result, then tap OK to convert the layer. Select the layer you want to convert, then use the Layer menu > Convert to lines and tones to open the dialog. You can convert a 3D model into a folder containing separate layers for the outlines and tones. Shows a preview of the results on the canvas. Specify the number of screentone lines per inch, and the angle of the screentone pattern. When the Type is set to Noise, the Size and Factor settings appear instead. (The Type setting cannot be previewed on the canvas. You can tap an empty space on the bar to add a new node, or drag nodes out of the slider to remove them. Use the nodes to adjust the grayscale gradient by dragging the nodes horizontally to adjust the levels. (8)Levels slider (tones)Īdjusts the density of the tones. The stripes show the proportion of each level of shading. When turned on, you to adjust the density of the tone using Posterization control. If Tone on the Layer Property palette is turned on, you can carry over the same settings for Tone. The larger the value, the more likely it is to have short segments. Line curvature: Adjusts the continuity of the detected outline based on variation in thickness. The smaller the value, the weaker the edge, making even small changes detected as a line. Edge height: Allows you to adjust the height of the edge and detect it as an outline. This method is suitable when a more delicate expression is required. The outline is extracted based on Threshold of edge height and Threshold of gradient variation. If turned off, outline detection is weaker. Direction of detection: Specify the direction in which to detect the outline. The smaller the value, the more lines will be detected making the outline wider. Edge threshold: Set the gray density threshold to extract as outline. The outline is extracted based on Threshold of edge and Direction of detection. The settings shown depend on the method selected. (5)Method of edge detectionĭefines how edges are detected in order to extract the outline. You can set the threshold by entering a value or adjusting the slider. The stripes show the proportion of each level of shading. (2)Levels sliderĪdjust the grayscale gradient to extract as an outline. The gradient can be adjusted using the levels slider. When turned on, the original layer is posterized before outline extraction. Please see "Extracting lines from 3D models" for details on converting a 3D layer to lines and tones. If converting from a 3D layer, additional settings will appear in the dialog.
